About Cajun Aire Systems
Cajun Aire (now manufactured by Acquired Wastewater Technologies) is a budget-friendly aerobic treatment system commonly found in Harris County homes, particularly those built in the late 1990s through 2010s. The Cajun Aire Basic line offers reliable wastewater treatment in a straightforward design that keeps installation and maintenance costs manageable.
TCEQ-Approved Cajun Aire Models
Cajun Aire Basic models are TCEQ-approved in 500, 750, and 1,000 GPD capacities. The 500 T/S is the most common residential model, with 'P' variants including a built-in pump chamber and 'P/C' variants adding a chlorinator compartment. Acquired Wastewater Technologies also manufactures the Alliance, Atlas Aire, Melmac, Mo-DAD, and Tex-Aire brands under the same parent company.
Common Cajun Aire Maintenance & Repair Issues
Common Cajun Aire maintenance items include aerator replacement (the linear aerator is the most frequently serviced component), chlorinator service, spray head maintenance, and effluent filter cleaning. Because Acquired Wastewater Technologies manufactures multiple brands, parts are often interchangeable across their product lines.
Our Cajun Aire Maintenance Services
We service all Acquired Wastewater Technologies brands including Cajun Aire, Alliance, Atlas Aire, Melmac, Mo-DAD, and Tex-Aire. Parts availability is generally good since one manufacturer supports all these product lines.
Harris County Auto-Dialer Requirement
Harris County now requires cellular auto-dialer monitoring devices on all aerobic septic systems, including Cajun Aire units. When your system triggers an alarm — high water, pump failure, aerator malfunction, or power loss — the dialer alerts our office immediately, and we are required to respond within 72 hours. Our maintenance contracts include 24/7 auto-dialer monitoring at no additional charge.
If your Cajun Aire system does not yet have an auto-dialer installed, we can install an RMSYS RMS-812 cellular monitoring device during a maintenance visit. The installation is $750 (hardware + labor), and the monitoring service is included in your maintenance contract.
Cajun Aire Maintenance Contract Pricing
All Cajun Aire aerobic systems require TCEQ-mandated maintenance every four months at minimum — Harris County requires inspections every three months (quarterly). Our maintenance contracts cover everything: inspections, county compliance reporting, 24/7 auto-dialer monitoring, and 72-hour alarm response.
