Why Maintenance Matters
Your septic system is one of the most important — and most expensive to replace — components of your property. A failing septic system can cost $6,000 to $10,000 or more to replace, while regular maintenance costs a fraction of that amount and can extend your system's life by decades.
In Texas, aerobic treatment systems are legally required to be inspected by a licensed maintenance provider every three months in Harris County (TCEQ state minimum is every four months, but Harris County requires quarterly inspections), with reports filed to the county permitting authority within 14 days. Failing to maintain a current maintenance contract can result in enforcement action from your county.
What's Included
Every maintenance visit by our TCEQ-licensed technicians includes a comprehensive inspection of your system's components:
- Visual inspection of all tanks, risers, and lids
- Aerator/compressor operation verification
- Pump function and float switch testing
- Effluent filter inspection and cleaning
- Chlorine/disinfection tablet check and replacement guidance
- Spray head inspection (surface application systems)
- Alarm panel and electrical component check
- Sludge and scum level measurement
- Written inspection report
- County compliance reporting (aerobic systems)
