About Bio-Microbics Systems
Bio-Microbics produces some of the most technologically advanced residential wastewater treatment systems on the market, including the BioBarrier membrane bioreactor (MBR) and the Micro FAST fixed-film system. Their systems achieve exceptionally high effluent quality, making them ideal for environmentally sensitive areas or properties with strict discharge requirements.
TCEQ-Approved Bio-Microbics Models
Bio-Microbics has two TCEQ-approved product lines: the BioBarrier MBR series (0.5, 1.0, and 1.5 models for 500-1,500 GPD) and the Micro FAST series (0.4 through 1.5 models for 400-1,500 GPD). The Micro FAST Flex is their newest residential model. The BioBarrier uses membrane filtration technology for near-drinking-water quality effluent.
Common Bio-Microbics Maintenance & Repair Issues
Bio-Microbics systems are more technologically complex than standard aerobic units. BioBarrier MBR systems require periodic membrane cleaning and eventual membrane replacement (typically every 8-10 years). Micro FAST systems need media inspection, aerator servicing, and recirculation pump maintenance. These systems benefit from technicians who understand the specific technology.
Our Bio-Microbics Maintenance Services
Our Registered Sanitarian has direct experience with both the BioBarrier and Micro FAST product lines. These systems require knowledgeable service — improper maintenance can damage expensive membrane components or reduce treatment efficiency.
Harris County Auto-Dialer Requirement
Harris County now requires cellular auto-dialer monitoring devices on all aerobic septic systems, including Bio-Microbics units. When your system triggers an alarm — high water, pump failure, aerator malfunction, or power loss — the dialer alerts our office immediately, and we are required to respond within 72 hours. Our maintenance contracts include 24/7 auto-dialer monitoring at no additional charge.
If your Bio-Microbics system does not yet have an auto-dialer installed, we can install an RMSYS RMS-812 cellular monitoring device during a maintenance visit. The installation is $750 (hardware + labor), and the monitoring service is included in your maintenance contract.
Bio-Microbics Maintenance Contract Pricing
All Bio-Microbics aerobic systems require TCEQ-mandated maintenance every four months at minimum — Harris County requires inspections every three months (quarterly). Our maintenance contracts cover everything: inspections, county compliance reporting, 24/7 auto-dialer monitoring, and 72-hour alarm response.
- 1-Year Contract: $375/year
- 2-Year Contract: $675 total (save $75)
